Lost El Paso Paranormal

INVESTIGATION: La Bang Bang Bar & Restaurant, 414 E San Antonio Ave in Downtown El Paso, Texas
DATE: Sunday, January 4th, 2026
CREW: Lost El Paso Paranormal/Lead Investigator Neil Chochrek, & Janet Perez, Heather Shade, Johnny, Dean Tarango
Situated in the heart of historic Downtown El Paso, location sits nestled into a beautiful old brick building.
HISTORY of location:'East San Antonio Avenue was a major thoroughfare during El Paso's "Boomtown" era in the early 20th century (circa 1910). The area is characterized by a mix of Late Victorian, Art Deco, and 20th-century revival architectural styles... '414 E. San Antonio Ave in downtown El Paso sits in a historically significant area, once the site of early adobe homes, a Masonic cemetery, and key commercial growth, later becoming home to the iconic Popular Dry Goods Building, a landmark tied to El Paso's frontier-to-thriving-city transformation, evolving from dusty plots to major retail under figures like Adolph Schwartz, showcasing the city's cross-border heritage and architectural ambition.'
PAST INVESTIGATIONS: Along with our mentor, Mr. Henry Flores, we extensively examined the basements that run beneath this specific building and block several years ago. The whole basement area was a hotbed of paranormal activity at this time, some of which was reported to bleed up into the businesses above.
OUR INVESTIGATION: LEPP Crew was informed of activity at location such as: flickering lights, falling pots & pans, potential shadow figures in the hall, and someone being physically touched by something unseen in the bar area.
Crew arrived at midnight after bar's closing. We set up cameras, balls that light up when touched, K2 meters, and various other equipment. *A REM POD was placed in the area where someone was touched previously.
We had one particular spot at the bar where one of the cat balls kept being repeatedly triggered and lighting up.
Could it be attached to the numerous vintage items that are embedded right into the unique bartop itself. (Do these antique pieces hold some kind of residual energy?) It is something worth further looking into.
Johnny got an impression of 7 spirits- 2 female, 5 male, at the location. These may have been connected to the basement area?
Kitchen area was a bit challenging due to interference from other electronics- Might be a better idea to use different methods in this area (dowsing rods etc) next time.
In addition, we had many hits on our K2s, a few on the REM-POD, and have lots of other bits & pieces of video, equipment info, and personal experiences to filter through.
Neil is currently still reviewing video to see what else we may be able to discover.
HOT SPOTS: Particular spot at bar, Area where person was touched, and Hallway area
RECOMMENDATIONS: This was a great first investigation, it may be worth doing again where we could concentrate further on the hot spots. Neil will finish his review of video. We also want to do some further digging & investigation with our contacts at the library, on the history of the building and the block itself. Even though this was a short investigation, we did see several things that were unusual, which is very interesting and exciting!
